FAQ

How can I book your staff for my event?
It's a simple process that will take you 3 steps:
 - 1. Read our Terms and Conditions of Service (You will be required to accept our terms and have current service contract on file)
 - 2. Submit a Credit Card Authorization Form (Your credit card will be charged for the four hour minimum on total number of staff ordered, with balance due after staff report their actual hours from your event).  See Policy & Pricing page
 - 3.  Finally, Submit Order Staff
*We will send you a response confirming your staff order for the date and number of staff you requested

How much does the staff cost?
Prices vary based on what type of staff you need and the date needed. See Policy & Pricing page

Does your company provide insurance?
Yes, we can provide a General Liability Insurance policy upon request.  If your chosen venue requires their name as additionally insured, we can provide this however, if the insurance provider charges for this service the cost will be passed through to you and amount billed to credit card on file.   (The cost typically associated with this varies from $0 to $50 depending upon insurance provider)
 
How far in advance should I place my order?
We are happy to receive your staff order at any time and we are often able to accommodate orders on the day of event.  However, we do encourage you to submit orders at least two weeks in advance to ensure the availability of staff on your event date.  Being a seasonal industry, we are busier at certain times of the year, so it is recommended that you book as soon as possible.  *We hope to have three weeks or longer for exceptionally large staff orders.

How many staff people should I hire?
Please refer to our Staffing Guidelines, or feel free to ask our representative.

How much time should I allow for set-up?
There are many variables to consider when it comes to planning special events.  We suggest at least one hour before guest begin to arrive for a cocktail reception or events with 20 or less guest.  We suggest at least 1.5 to 2 hours for setup on a plated meal or a buffet events and longer setup times are needed for larger more intricate events.   Feel free to ask our representative for help determining the staff arrival time for your event.
Don’t forget to allow ample time after the event ends to do all breakdown duties and cleaning.

Does your staff need our directions or can we just turn the party over to them?
Our staff can run your event from start to finish. Should your event be more complicated, you can book an Event Lead and they will take charge of all the food and beverage related staff and duties so you can relax and focus on your guest. Please speak with us if this level of leadership is desired.

What all does your staff do?
From setting up the room before the first guest arrive to breaking the room down and cleaning it all up after the last guest has departed, our team is there to help!  We are there to make the event run smooth and efficiently and to meet or exceed the clients expectations.

How much training does your staff have?
We hire both experienced and inexperienced staff. Regardless of their previous experience in related field, our team shall attend the STS new hire orientation training program. Modules covering topics such as fine dining etiquette, table settings, how to set up bars, buffets, beverage and dessert stations are taught.  In addition to the STS orientation our captains are trained to work with the staff member’s onsite at events and further re-enforce their training to strengthen their skillset.

Should I pay or tip the wait staff after the party?
All payment for the hours our staff works will be charged on your credit card as specified on the Policy & Pricing page.
* Tipping the staff is not required, but it is always appreciated. If you think the staff did an exceptional job and would like to give gratuity to show your satisfaction then you can always do it directly to the staff, at the end of your event Or let us know you would like to provide them with a gratuity on your credit card and whatever amount you specify will be added to the final invoice charges.

What should I do, if my event gets longer than was expected, and I need wait staff for additional hours?
Our quote is based on a 4 hour minimum. However, client reserves the right to hold wait staff for additional time needed. Should you foresee significantly longer hours, please notify as in advance so we can let the staff know to plan accordingly.
